Cole Harbour is an unincorporated suburban community in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) of Nova Scotia. Situated a mere six kilometers east of the central business district of Dartmouth, Cole Harbor is home to just over 25,000 people.
Originally founded in 1754, Cole Harbour remained an unincorporated village within the County of Halifax until the creation of HRM in 1996. The community saw extensive residential and commercial development during the 1970s and 1980s. Cole Harbour is home to Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps IROQUOIS, recipient of the Convoy Shield. Bissett Lake sits right in the middle of Cole Harbour, not far from such popular outdoor destinations as Cole Harbour Heritage Park and Rainbow Haven Beach Provincial Park.
